Upcoming webinar: FIIN presents ‘Gendered Institutions and Women’s Political Representation in Africa’

Date: 7 June 2022, 10:00 – 11:30am (CEST)

Throughout the past three decades, demands to increase women’s political representation across the African continent have sprouted up in the context of broader constitutional reform and the aftermath of civil conflict.

Following the publication of Diana Højlund Madsen’s highly praised ‘Gendered Institutions and Women’s Political Representation in Africa, the FIIN Network is proud to host this webinar examining the study of women’s political representation in Malawi, Ghana and South Africa.

Chaired by Professor Georgina Waylen (University of Manchester), the webinar will centre on the methods adopted by scholars in Africa, the usefulness of FI and what we can learn from its adaptation to different political contexts.
