Vilius Mickūnas started his PhD studies at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University (IIRPS VU) in 2024. The topic of the the dissertation is “Women’s underrepresentation in Lithuanian politics: analyzing political recruitment through a feminist institutionalist approach.” The project is supervised by assoc. prof. dr. Inga Vinogradnaitė.

Vilius is also interested in sexuality studies, and have written a MA thesis under the topic “Discourse on Sexuality in Lithuania: an Analysis of Heteronormative Attitudes of Members of the Parliament of Lithuania.”
