Tània Verge

Full Professor of Political and Gender, Universitat Pompeu Fabra

 

Tània Verge is Full Professor of Political and Gender at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain). Her research interests lie in the gendered informal institutions underpinning political parties and parliaments, in the resistance to the adoption and implementation of gender equality policy, and in feminist institutional redesign. She has been a gender consultant for several national and international organisations, such as the Council of Europe and the Parliament of Catalonia, where she advised the institution on the adoption of its gender action plan. She served as director of the Equality Unit of Universitat Pompeu Fabra between 2014 and May 2021, a specialised unit tasked with the promotion of gender equality and LGBTI policy at the university level. She is currently the Minister of Equality and Feminisms of the Government of Catalonia.
