Tània Verge
Full Professor of Politics and Gender, Universitat Pompeu Fabra
Tània Verge is Full Professor of Politics and Gender at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain). Her research interests lie in how political parties, parliaments and governments are patterned through gender, the resistance to the adoption and implementation of gender equality policy, and feminist institutional redesign. She has been a gender consultant for several international organisations, such as the Council of Europe, OSCE-ODIHR and UN Women, and she coordinated the elaboration of the first gender action plan of the Parliament of Catalonia. She was the director of the Equality Unit of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2014–2021), a specialised unit tasked with the promotion of gender equality and LGBTI policy at the university level. More recently, she served as Minister of Equality and Feminisms in the Government of Catalonia (May 2021–August 2024) and MP in the Parliament of Catalonia (May 2024–January 2026).
