Saskia Brechenmacher
PhD candidate, University of Cambridge
Saskia Brechenmacher is a PhD candidate and Gates Cambridge scholar at the University of Cambridge and a non-resident fellow in the Democracy, Conflict and Governance Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Her doctoral research focuses on resistance against women’s political participation in new democracies (with a specific focus on Kenya). She is also completing a book manuscript on international aid for women’s political empowerment, with case studies of Nepal, Myanmar, Kenya, and Morocco.
